Corporate Profile
Chipshol is the leading privately-owned land development and investment company in the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol region. The company develops high quality business parks on land, which it owns in this main growth area of The Netherlands.
About 35 years ago, Chipshol founder Jan Poot –62 at the time– was the first to recognise the Schiphol region as the most attractive residential and economic area of the Netherlands, maybe even Europe. He bought strategic land positions, thoroughly studied about 20 international main ports and started to pursue his vision of making Schiphol the no. 1 airport in Europe. He started planning high quality business parks with unique features inspired by top international benchmark projects.
Chipshol sets high standards in terms of access, public transport and environmental factors. In every development, Chipshol pays close attention to:
• landscaping, planting and water features;
• architecture;
• maintenance;
• convenience and atmosphere.
In this respect, the development of business park Chipshol Park-Rijk is exemplary of the Chipshol philosophy.
Sustainable architecture
Quality architecture, landscaping and efficient land use are a priority at Chipshol’s parks. Therefore parking is placed beneath buildings, a solution that –when first introduced by Chipshol– was quite revolutionary because it has never been done in Europe.
With automobiles around buildings drastically reduced, a large proportion of the land — fifty-seven percent of Chipshol Park, for example –consists of parks and other open spaces. These green areas, along with courtyards and squares, surround elegant buildings built according to the principles of sustainable architecture.
